Today's Thermostats Are Simple But Sophisticated

TODAY’S THERMOSTATS ARE SIMPLE BUT SOPHISTICATED
By Programming You Can Save!

Who doesn’t want to save money in this troubled economy?  If your answer is “I do” look no further than your energy bill and the kind of thermostat you have at home.   Programmable thermostats are better because you can set them up to regulate indoor temperatures based on the climate and time of the day.

By using a programmable thermostat correctly, you can save!   According to Energy Star, correct use of programmable thermostats can save consumers in a single-family home up to $180 in energy costs per year.

How Hard Is To Set Up Your Thermostat?

Although programmable thermostats are simple, they can be sophisticated.  With these easy steps, you will do it in a blink of an eye and save money.

Step 1
First is to find a thermostat that is compatible with your heating and cooling system.

Step 2
Look for a thermostat that has a 24/7 day variable schedule. This means that you can set what temperature you want it to be in your house at what hour, on what day.   If it is winter and you leave work at 6 am, you will want your temperature to go down while you are at work.  You will save energy by letting the system stop.

The system will not be running all day because it won't be trying to maintain the usual 70 degree temperature preference.  If you know that you will be home at 5 pm, then you can set the system to adjust the temperature back up at 5 pm.  So when you get home the temperature will be the same as when you left. You saved all that energy in the middle of the day.

Carrier thermostats simplify home comfort with 7-day programming of temperature, humidity and air quality.  Large-button, easy-read screen, multi-zone settings and optional remote access assure superior performance.

Step 3
Now it is time to save money!  Go through the daily schedule and decide when you need the heat/air on and when you don't.   If you leave the house empty all day long, then there is no need to heat or cool the house while you are not at home.  If you are only home on the weekends, you can adjust the weekends so that the heat/air is on all day long.  Maybe it's the middle of May and it's hot during the day but cooler at
night.  Then you can set the thermostat to adjust the temperature at night so that the air doesn't run at night.  All times and days are variable which gives you complete control. Some thermostats even notify you when to change the filter.  You'll enjoy both greater comfort and lower energy costs, all from a single, powerful source.
